This is an event I have been wanting to attend for many years. It’s in it’s 26th annual year and if you enjoy horses and antique equipment and farm implements and Music, you will really enjoy this 4 day show in Grass Valley, CA. It’s called the
DRAFT HORSE CLASSIC
and is usually set for the 3rd weekend in September. check it out you will not be disappointed. We dry camped onsite at the Nevada County Fairgrounds, very shaded among the pine trees. One of the nicest fairgrounds we have seen. There are hookups available but they get reserved very early. We didn’t mind dry camping and the generator rules are typical 7am to 10pm.
We bought a “Season Pass” which got each of us in to all events. Since it was our fist time to attend we really didn’t know which event to choose. The season pass was the right choice for us. in between the shows you can wander freely thought the bard area and meet the horses and the owners up close. It’s a very casual atmosphere. Amazing horses performing in numerous shows for competition. In addition to the competitors, there are several performances headlined each day and evening. My favorite was the California Cowgirls. They are awesome.
