"The Land of Aaaahs"

"The Road Goes on Forever and the Party never Ends"

We like to follow the roads that show up on the map with green dots and the backroads most of the time. The road less traveled often takes us to a place not even on the map. We particularly enjoy National and State Parks, National Wildlife Refuges and those “Unadvertised Specials” (places the locals tell us about)

The United States and Canada alone have so much interesting back country to explore, will we ever see it all?  Generally we don’t have much of an itinerary other than what state we are headed to. Plans seem to evolve as we go.  We’ll likely continue this way of life until we are tired of being mobile and want a permanent base.

We joined the Escapees RV Club 13 years ago and find their mail service to be among the Best for those of us on the road.  They have a fantastic magazine filled with information and photos about traveling in your RV as well as annual rallies where you meet other RVers and can obtain a wealth of information at the seminars.   One of the best memberships we support.

We travel with our 12 year old dog, a Wheaten Terrier named Lily, who has known nothing else but living on the road and having a new backyard whenever the jacks go down.

Little did I know that there are thousands of people in the US traveling full time in their RV. They may be young and still work as they go, raising kids on the road, semi or fully retired. Maybe they workcamp for a few months out of the year in an area they enjoy;  after that they are free to go anywhere they desire the rest of the year. Whatever the scenario, I never thought I would fit into this mold.
I also never realized that along the way we would meet people who would become friends, lifelong friends; many of whom have been on the road much longer than we have. With technology today so much more is possible.
For now, it fits.  We are CAGEFREE, free to roam…
If we don’t do it now, when would we ever do it?
