MARK’S CHILI RECIPE PLEASES THE JUDGES
The Tempe Elks Lodge has a Chili Cook Off Each year at this time. The money from this event supports local High School Scholarships. Since we have been staying here for Spring Training Games we have gotten to know more of the people in the park as well as the lodge. This year the Tempe Lodge sponsored Mark to cook their entry for the competition. There were 18 Cooks who entered and over 100 people came to taste. As in past years, The Tempe Fire Department sent over four judges for the main judging category. Mark came in First with his Beef and Chorizo Chili Recipe.
All contestants were required to bring all ingredients to their station at 8AM and begin prepping and cooking. Chili that had been prepared elsewhere was not allowed.
