We have visited the whole Oregon Coast and I must say their coastline is pretty spectacular. It is much more accessible than most of the California coast in my opinion, and the rock formations along most of the coast are so spectacular. The towns of Florence, Bandon, Cannon Beach are filled with shops and good restaurants. Astoria is filled with history and museums. The campground at Fort Stevens is convenient to visit the area if you have a Toad (that’s a towed vehicle behind a motorhome) 🙂 or you are traveling in a 5th wheel.

Oregon has wonderful Blueberries and Blackberries and the local shops have great syrups, jams, and of course there are Pick your own fruit farms and fruit stands during the season.
This is Port Orford. A very small coast town. The oldest town on the Oregon Coast and the most westerly in the 48 states. They have a fishing port where you can get fresh fish in season. My favorite place to camp is about 5 miles north of town, see the sign that says CAPE BLANCO STATE PARK. This is a real gem of a campground. Each space is surrounded on three sides by very tall hedges, many of them are blackberries. The sites of the east side are more sunny and the ones closest the ocean are quite dark. You can’t see the ocean from the campsites, but you can drive your 4 wheel vehicle right down to the beach. Different times of the year there are great piles of driftwood. Here you might find a piece of Port Orford Cedar driftwood. It has a very distinguished fragrance which I really like.
Be sure to take the short trip over to the Light house. Sometimes it is open for tours for under $5.00
