Christmas at Anza-Borrego State Park

Borrego first camp

Mark and I arrived at Anza-Borrego State park on December 23rd. A place of beauty in California Largest State Park. We were later joined by 6 other RV friends after the holiday.

Tusks in the Desert-2 Throughout the desert you will come across many steel sculptures along the roads and trails. all by sculptor, Ricardo Breceda.

This is also the best place to buy some delicious grapefruit right from the farm stands

First things first… get your hair cut before the celebration… Cost?   One nice bottle of wine..  My promise is to do my best, but… “keep in mind I am a sculptor, not a hair stylist”

NEW YEARS DAY 2015

Happy New Year Feast

Our dinner was excellent.. Trash Can Turkey, all the trimmings, salads, desserts and several bottles of California’s best grape juice.

Borrego Springs took a dive in temperatures today but it did not chill us out, we had an amazing day.

How about a little Bocce Ball?

Chuck and Jan always travel with the bocce ball set. Bring on the rocks and the desert washes. Laughter and screams abound..

Gisela and Bill made a trip up to Julian, just up the hill about an hour from Borrego Springs.  Julian is famous for the apples that grow at that elevation, the pies in the local shops are the best you’ve ever tasted.  Lucky for all of us they came home with several pies!

Next Stop is Ogilby Road near Yuma, Arizona.   It’s a nice quiet spot in the desert, close to Los Algodones. Many of us were headed there for Dentist and Eye Dr appointments.
