Where is Boomerville?

Posted by on January 30, 2016

Another year’s stay in Boomerville. Boomerville is certainly not a figment of my imagination. It is actually a community of friendly, happy, and fairly like-minded RVers that happen to also be members of the Escapees RV Club. We have planted ourselves among these fun loving active friends during 5 different Januarys.  Each year brings new friends and activities…MANY activities. In fact there is rarely enough time to participate in each activity that spontaneously pops up on our white board… daily. I can tell you that the two weeks flew by very fast.

This year I didn’t take many photos of the “event” as I usually do, but I will share just a few snapshots.

Boomerville overview

Overlooking Boomerville

Some of the activities included Seminars on anything from Healthy food Choices to Solar Batteries and much more; trips to the Bakery, The Desert Bar, Silly Al’s Pizza, Pancake Breakfasts, Pizza Making Parties in a Desert Clay Oven, Outdoor Movies, Pet Parade,Chili Cookoff, Teeth Whitening, Coffee roasting, Karaoke, Comedy Improv  and really the list of activities goes on and on. Imagine 150+ RVs and probably close to 300 of your friends parked all around you. Impromptu dinners, Happy hours all keep you connected to so many interesting friends. We will likely see many of them down the road again somewhere and reminisce about our gathering in the desert.

Lots of laughs among these Boomers all while they opened their wallets to help raise money for the Escapee care facility in Livingston TX.

Between all the fundraising ideas during the two week period, pancakes, Potato dinners, auction, rib dinner 50/50 drawing, recycled aluminum, and other donations this generous group of RVers will donate over $7000.00 at this event.  Amazing!

Until next year…… see you down the road.
