Boomerville 2015

Posted by on January 31, 2015

It’s more than just a figment of one’s imagination.. It’s a real gathering of friends who share the dream of traveling in an RV and enjoy sharing ideas and spending time getting to know new friends and renewing old acquaintances each year.  Usually about 200 of them circle the wagons off a dirt road called Mitchell Mine Road.   It starts around January 14th and possibly as long at January 28th; in the desert a few miles from Quartzsite, AZ.    The Boomers are a chapter of the ESCAPEES RV Club.   Self motivated, No rules, No meetings Just fun.  This year as in past years we had many subjects to discuss, games to play and of course the Auction for CARE in Livingston Texas. We raised over $6000.00 for that facility and had fun doing it.  Where else could you spend so much on stuff you will likely never use, or over pay for used junk that you later have to stop at a rubbish can or a Thrift store to empty out your rig; And Feel Great about it ALL.

Mark’s delicious Lemon Pie sold at auction for $72.00!  Six of us spent just under $500.00 to go to a Mystery Murder Dessert and Wine Party in a motorhome.  This evening was donated by  Moore’s, Anderson and Peyton.   All for a great cause. Here’s our photo taken at the end of the evening after we discovered that our friend Bill was in fact the murderer!
